Black River Technical College is looking for qualified applicants for the following position. This is a full time, twelve-month instructional position contingent on continued funding by the Blood Alcohol Testing Program Grant.
Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s Degree preferred, CLEST Certified Law Enforcement Officer, CLEST Certified Law Enforcement Instructor; Standardized Field Sobriety Instructor Certification and Drug Recognition Expert experience is desirable. Applicants must have a current Arkansas CDL or obtain one immediately upon employment.
The BAT Program Instructor is responsible for teaching Sobriety Checkpoint Technician Courses, and Standardized Field Sobriety Testing Courses at law enforcement academies and law enforcement agencies throughout the State of Arkansas. The BAT Program Instructor is responsible for seeking and supporting law enforcement agencies in conducting impaired driving enforcement in the form of sobriety checkpoints and saturations during nights, weekends, and holidays on an intermittent schedule. The BAT Program Instructor is responsible for appearing at public schools, colleges and community events to educate students and the public of the dangers of impaired driving.
