Black River Technical College (BRTC) Law Enforcement Training Academy (LETA) Director Jared Bassham presented a training module at the 2023 Arkansas Sheriffs’ Association Conference Wednesday, held in the Red Wolf Convention Center.
Bassham gave a Commission on Law Enforcement Standards and Training (CLEST) approved lecture to Sheriffs, Jail Administrators and Sheriffs’ Staff entitled “Ethics in Law Enforcement.”
During the presentation he discussed what ethics are, how ethics are oftentimes a gray area, and how ethics differ depending on an individual’s background. He examined how ethics are viewed by different generations, and some of the challenges this presents law enforcement executives.
