Black River Technical College is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Instructional Technologist for the Distance Education and Instructional Technology department on the Pocahontas Campus. This is a full-time, 12-month, non-classified position currently funded by the CARES ACT with the intention of future funding through the college fee structure.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assists faculty with analyzing, designing, and developing effective technology-mediated courses with a focus on creating and implementing digital learning resources including video, audio, graphics, and interactive media; serves as a primary administrator for the learning management system (LMS); visits instructors weekly; plans, coordinates, and conducts professional development workshops in the use of technologies and LMS including training courses; creates and disseminates weekly help topics; evaluates online/hybrid courses; creates semesterly reports; creates and maintains support resources for students and faculty. This position is responsible for other duties as assigned by the Director of Distance Education and Instructional Technology. Occasional variance in daily work schedule and occasional travel and weekend and evening hours may be required.
The formal education equivalent of a Baccalaureate degree is required, but a Master’s degree is preferred with a major in instructional technology or design, curriculum and instruction, computer science, or a related field, plus two years of experience using instructional technology in an educational setting or related areas. Experience with Camtasia Studio or another screen-capture technology is required. Other job-related education and/or experience may be substituted for all or part of the basic requirements.
