Black River Technical College is accepting applications for the following technical faculty positions for the 2021-2022 academic year with the semester beginning on August 16, 2021.
MACHINE TOOL TECHNOLOGY INSTRUCTOR – Pocahontas Campus
The applicant will be responsible for course curriculum development, course and laboratory instruction in the machine tool technology department at Black River Technical College as well as academic advisement and committee activities.
The applicant will be responsible for teaching the techniques and mechanics of the machine trade, which would lead to employment of graduates as an apprentice tool and die maker or machinist. Applicants will be working with both college and high school students as part of BRTC’s Career and Technical Center.
This person must have as a minimum an Associate degree; a Bachelor of Science is preferred. The candidate should have work experience in and around the following areas: machinist, tool and die making, CNC programmer and operator or a closely related occupation. The applicant should possess proficient knowledge of engine lathes, milling machines, surface grinders, CNC equipment, and basic machine shop equipment. Applicants must be willing to continue their education through technical training and professional certifications.
Preference will be given to applicants with the following skills:
- Prior teaching experience at either the high school or college level
- Knowledge of manual and CNC Lathe use and operation
- Knowledge of manual and CNC Mill use and operation.
- Knowledge of CAD/CAM application and use with CNC machines
