This 2-year customized program in specialized automation training will focus on Programmable Logic Controllers, industrial devices, and sensors used to control manufacturing processes and equipment. The Black River Automation Technology program will enable electrical maintenance, PLC technicians, and systems engineers to better understand and utilize their PLC technology, which will help them minimize downtime and reduce waste.
This 4-year apprenticeship program is structured system of training, designed to prepare individuals for occupations in skilled trades and crafts. Apprenticeship combines related classroom instruction with on-the-job training under the supervision of experienced and licensed workers. Workers who complete apprenticeship training programs can expect to hold good jobs at good pay! Their skills are a source of personal satisfaction as well as employment security. Statistics show that apprentices earn higher wages, have more stable work records, and are promoted sooner and more often than workers who have not been trained through apprenticeship training programs.
This program is designed to strengthen the knowledge of current and future maintenance technicians. Students attending this 9-month program will gain skills in math, print reading, industrial hydraulics, mechanical maintenance, electrical safety, preventative maintenance, electrical schematics, AC Circuits and transformers, DC circuits & fundamentals, motor controls, power supplies, programmable logic controllers, maintenance welding, and more. This 14-week online Pharmacy Technician course will prepare students to enter the field of Pharmacy and to pursue national certification. The need for Pharmacy Technicians continue to grow with demand expected to increase substantially through 2020. Approximately 420,000 technicians were employed in 2018. Employment of Pharmacy Technicians has 7% growth projections each year through 2028. Students will learn Pharmacy Calculations, medical terminology, skills necessary to read and interpret prescriptions, review of the top 100 drugs and the skill necessary to identify drugs by brand and generic names. The profession of welding allows a person to fit into many different career paths due to the demand for those proficient in the art of welding. The program starts with fundamentals and ends with advanced concepts. Thus, the program can serve both beginners and individuals with welding experience who want to improve skills and pay-grade. Due to the curriculum being progressive, a student will be exposed to many areas of welding through classroom instruction, as well as, hands on experience in the welding lab.
