POCAHONTAS, AR Nov. 8 – On November 7, Black River Technical College Director of Adult Education Tammie Lemmons was honored by being awarded the Garland Hankins Award. The presentation was made at the annual Arkansas Association of Continuing and Adult Education Annual Conference in Hot Springs held from November 6-8.
Garland Hankins was the long-time director of the Arkansas Department of Workforce Education, Adult Education Division. The honor is given to an outstanding alumnus, student, or supporter of adult education determined by the AAAAE Selection Committee. Nominations are sent in from any of the hundreds of adult educators across the state.
At BRTC, Lemmons directions the adult education program which serves Clay, Greene, Lawrence, and Randolph counties.
