BRTC Hosts RN Job Fair

POCAHONTAS, AR Nov. 23—On Tuesday, October 26, Black River Technical College hosted a Registered Nursing job fair for students who will be graduating in December.

BRTC’s inaugural traditional registered nursing (TRN) class had the opportunity to speak with prospective employers from several Northeast Arkansas healthcare facilities about open positions.

Lawrence Memorial Hospital, Lawrence Hall, St. Bernards Five Rivers, Encompass Health, Comfort Care Home Health, St. Bernards Medical Center, Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center, Arisa Health (MidSouth Health Systems), First Choice Healthcare, Well Path (Newport Prison), St. Elizabeth’s Place, and Arkansas State Hospital attended the event to promote positions available in their facilities.

BRTC also invited several universities with BSN programs to attend and recruit students who plan to continue their education after graduating from BRTC. ASU Jonesboro, Chamberlain University, UAMS, Central Methodist University, Henderson State University, UCA, Southeast MO State University, and Ouachita Baptist University visited the campus to meet with students about their programs.

Amanda Junkersfield, BRTC Nursing Clinical Site Coordinator, explained that the college hosts hiring/recruiting events each year to give students and employers and college recruits the opportunity to meet face-to-face. She added that the event went well; students, employers, and recruiters were pleased with the event.
