Black River Technical College Machine Tool Technology students continue to work on the design for Nubbins, the Greene County Animal Farm rescue puppy with mobility issues, prosthetics.
“We are still working out some of the kinks in our design, so it will be still a little while before we can have Nubbins here to try them on,” said Machine Tool Technology Instructor Rick Barker.

The students have fashioned their prosthetics design from a 2D sketch of Nubbins and measurements they took from Nubbins at the beginning of the semester. They then turned it into a 3D design using SolidWorks software. The SolidWorks design was then uploaded into an Ender 3D pro-max printer to begin the process of working out the design to make it feasible for use with the puppy’s mobility issues.
