POCAHONTAS, AR Oct. 18, 2019 – Early this fall, BRTC faculty and staff chose a current student they felt is exemplary to serve as BRTC’s Academic All-Star. They named Heather Claude of Paragould.
On Tuesday, October 15, Heather was honored at the Arkansas Community College (ACC) Outstanding Alumni & Academic All-Star Awards Brunch in Little Rock at the ACC Annual Conference. The Academic All-Star students named at the other 22 public Arkansas 2-year colleges were also honored that evening.
Heather Claude has been a BRTC student since 2018. She is an active member of the Student Activities Board and the Student Government Association. Heather has been on the President’s List every semester at BRTC and is currently a student worker in the enrollment management office. She is a single parent, a business owner, and a positive role model for many young ladies who enjoy dance. Heather plans on a future career in elementary education.
All BRTC Academic All-Star students receive a $500 scholarship for their final semester. In addition, they are offered free tuition at the public state university of their choice.
