BRTC Names Outstanding Faculty Member

POCAHONTAS, AR  Oct. 24, 2019 – Last spring, BRTC faculty and staff chose a peer they felt have performed exemplary as Outstanding Faculty.  They named Darenda Kersey, BRTC business instructor, BRTC Outstanding Faculty member.

On Monday, October 14, Darenda was honored at the Arkansas Community College (ACC) Outstanding Faculty & Staff Awards Banquet in Little Rock at the ACC Annual Conference.  The outstanding faculty named at the other 22 public Arkansas 2-year colleges were also honored that evening.

Darenda began her career at Black River Technical College in 2007 as a business instructor. In addition to continuing to teach business courses, she currently serves as Coordinator of Concurrent Enrollment and BRTC’s TOPSS program. In these roles, she works closely with concurrent faculty, high school administrators, and high school students and their parents. Darenda is truly an asset to BRTC and is a deserving choice for BRTC’s Outstanding Faculty.
