Dr. Martin Eggensperger Named President of Black River Technical College

POCAHONTAS, AR Apr. 16 – On Tuesday, April 16 the Black River Technical College Board of Trustees voted in open forum to appoint Dr. Martin Eggensperger of Mountain Home, Arkansas, as the 5th BRTC president. The announcement follows a 4-month presidential search led by the 7-member board and assisted by 22-member search committee composed of community members and BRTC vice presidents, faculty, staff, and students representing the 4-county service area and both BRTC locations.

Dr. Eggensperger comes to BRTC from ASU Mountain Home in Mountain Home, Arkansas. He currently serves as Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs. Previously, Dr. Eggensperger served as mathematics faculty, dean then division chair of general studies, and associate vice president for institutional effectiveness at Southeast Arkansas College. At College of the Ouachitas, Dr. Eggensperger served as vice president for instruction and as the board-appointed interim president.

At ASU-Mountain Home, he has led HLC reaccreditation efforts, guided strategic planning, and leads all academic programming. During this time, ASUMH was recognized by the Aspen Institute for Community College Excellence, and placed on the Chronicle of Higher Education’s 2018 list of top 25 community colleges in the nation for student success.

Dr. Eggensperger will follow interim president Dr. Jan Ziegler and begin his duties at a date to be determined.
