State Officials Visit BRTC

POCAHONTAS, AR Jan. 7 – Mike Preston, AR Secretary of Commerce/AEDC Executive Director, and Andrew Parker, Director of Governmental Affairs for the AR State Chamber of Commerce/Executive Director Associated Industries of AR Foundation, Inc., visited BRTC’s Pocahontas campus on Monday, January 3, 2022.

Preston and Parker addressed the college’s faculty, staff, Board of Trustees members, and Foundation members, discussing the successes Arkansas has enjoyed and challenges it is working to overcome. Following their presentations, both Preston and Parker answered questions posed to them by BRTC employees and community members. At the conclusion of the Q&A, Dr. Martin Eggensperger, BRTC President, led a campus tour, highlighting the Machine Tool Technology, Gunsmithing, and Robotics programs at BRTC.

Dr. Eggensperger welcomes other Arkansas leaders to campus by stating, “We’re always eager to showcase BRTC. Campus tours offer us the opportunity to better know our community members, answer questions specific to guests and their interests, while featuring the key people, programs, and facilities unique to Black River.”
