Regina Moore Awarded Professional Development Scholarship

POCAHONTAS, AR  Oct. 23, 2019 – Regina Moore, Director of Distance Education and Instructional Technology and one of BRTC’s Assessment Champions, has been selected to receive a $1,000 scholarship from the Arkansas Association for the Assessment of Collegiate Learning (AAACL) to attend the Assessment Institute in Indianapolis on October 13-15.

“This was a very competitive scholarship,” said Sissy Gray, interim Vice President of Academics, “but Regina works very hard and is very deserving of it.”

The scholarship was created to financially help faculty and staff at Arkansas institutions of higher education attend professional development conferences.  As a part of the scholarship requirements, Moore will present at the Spring 2020 AAACL conference outlining her experience at the conference.

“To be awarded the AAACL Assessment Institute Scholarship is exciting and a great honor,” Moore said.  “The knowledge I gain at the Assessment Institute will help strengthen BRTC\’s assessment practices and will help to guide future assessment planning.”

The Assessment Institute in Indianapolis is designed to provide opportunities for three groups of people.  The institute assists individuals and campus teams new to outcomes assessment acquiring fundamental knowledge about the field.  It also provides a forum for individuals who have worked as leaders in outcomes assessment to share and extend their knowledge and skills.  Finally, the Institute offers the opportunity for those interested in outcomes assessment at any level to establish networks that serve as sources of support and expertise beyond the dates of the Institute.
